TRUTHS ABOUT COLOR CORRECTING WITH HUDA BEAUTY

Color correctors have been the most important makeup in my makeup kit ever since I've been a pro makeup artist. To understand the tones, and the shades, is all part of the experience. There are so many color correctors in the industry & many new ones too, but recently, I've put the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter color corrector in the shade "Mango" to test.
Mango, is typically a corrector shade for warmer undertones, unlike the pink undertone correctors in her range. Once I started using this on my undereyes (also known as the thinnest area on the face), I felt it was lightweight on the skin yet gave me the coverage I needed and didn't slide off like some other brands that I've tried and tested. Initially, I used too much of it but realized it had a strong pigment, and I only had to put on three dots of it in the darker areas. I preferred blending these dots with my fingers to warm up the texture and avoid creases. I did not find it completely crease-proof though, as how it claims to be. The trick to using this corrector is actually putting a little on and not over blending it. It gives better results.

The shade? I felt Mango was a little too orange for me, but I needed a shade a little lighter than Mango, which would be "Peach", but I think I needed something between Peach and Mango to get the tone right. Instead, I mixed a peach color corrector from another brand, with Huda's Mango, and it worked even better.

I would recommend to get the color corrector shade matched well beforehand, or even get a free consultation with me if you're looking for a shade match. All you have to do is click this link. And, incase you're comparing this to other color correctors you're considering buying, the main reason this works well overall is because its infused with vitamin C and niacinamide which are a cocktail of brightening actives.
