Favorite Beauty Products of May 2018

With an exciting and busy month of travel for work, this month I used many interesting products on clients which were loved whenever I created the looks for them, especially since they hadn't tried it before. Some products really did stand out and I can't wait to share them with you!

Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Champagne Pop"

The most gorgeous pressed highlighter with a high impact and ultra shine that glows within a room from a distance (and it really does!!). It goes on the skin like seamless silk and never looks cakey, and the best part is that it adjusts to your natural skin tone. This is one tone that suits so many skin tones, and has a champagne effect, not a gold highlight unlike many other highlighters. It doesn't look glittery, but gives you that spotlight effect! I love using this on the bridge of the nose and the cheekbones.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder duo

If you're up for a professional brow, this powder duo is ideal to use with light strokes for a natural defined look. Add more shadow where you want to fill gaps but I recommend building on the powder rather than dabbing it all in once. It looks more natural in person too! The shade "soft brown" has been a popular one that I have been using on clients and friends but pick a color that matches your original brow hair. I like using brow powder for makeup when I want to build on a natural brow effect and not a dark tattoo brow (which is so popular amongst bloggers and instagrammers). This also comes in 11 other shades, so there's a lot to pick from no matter what your brow color is.

Tarte Shape Tape concealer This vegan, full-coverage concealer knows how to perfectly cover, highlight, brighten and smoothen the skin. It is creamy and thick in texture but I like to use a slightly lighter shade to brighten the under eye area and the bridge of the nose. Initially, when you put it on, it seems cakey but it settles down and blends into the skin well after a few minutes. It has a matte finish but doesn't crease easily if you have dry skin or fine lines. You could set it if you want to but I don't mind not setting it either. Since it contains shea butter, it regenerates the skin and settles in well. The shade "light sand" is quite a popular one amongst many girls.

Maybelline Master Drama Kohl eyeliner Ultra black With 16 hour wear and highly pigmented formulas, the master drama kohl pencil gives you those extremely black kohl eyes that are drool-worthy and fierce. I love the intensity and pigment of this drugstore eyeliner!! It's stayed on for the whole day and not budged from its place. I've also used it to smudge and smoke up the eyes for a smokey kohl look and I love how its so easy to blend and wear without having to worry about the underlies getting darker after a few hours and looking messy. Try it out and you'll understand what I mean! But yes, if you don't re-use the pencil for few days, the pencil dries up so you need to sharpen it again in order to get the ultra black pigment. You can't expect drugstore brands to have the best formulas but if it gives you the best effect then why not use it?!
