Best ways to keep your skin fresh during summer!
How can you keep fresh, hydrated & protected during the hottest season of the year? Read a few of the easiest ways that will help you keep calm under this weather:
1. Smooth any dry spots from your body:
Wooden dry body brushes (especially from Body Shop) are the most effective products ever! If you have any dry patches that form on your body, clear them and smooth them out with this body brush before or during your shower depending on how sensitive your skin actually is. If your use the brush dry, you feel the wooden bristles rubbing against your skin and it might be too harsh for you so I recommend using some with like warm water and rubbing along the patches. You come out with smooth and silky skin right after as the dry skin gets peeled/rubbed off. Use this brush in gentle motions as intense rubbing can damage the skin. After scrubbing & drying, try softening that area with some petroleum jelly or body oil to moisturise and soften the area even more.

2. Make your own facial spray or refreshing mist:
Take some rose water and dilute with cold water, refrigerate it and carry it around with you during the day. Helps keep you hydrated, refreshed and keeps your acne under control. Some people like using tea-tree oil instead of rose water, which is great to control acne-prone skin. Proportion should be 1 part of tea-tree oil and 8 parts of water, a little bit goes a long way.
3. Stay Hydrated:
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day or even more if you can! This is one of the most important things to do during the summer and most people often ignore it, making it their cause of tiredness, dull & dehydrated skin.
4. Drink infused water to give yourself enough vitamins during the day:
Take a bottle of water and add fruits of your choice to infuse the water and give it some flavor. Oranges, apples, strawberries and mint are great sources of vitamins but feel free to experiment. Water tastes even better this way!

5. Powder your oily areas using a compact with SPF for your daily routine:
For a lighter effect on the skin, it is recommended to use mineral makeup with spf. Set your BB cream or foundation or bare skin with some powder to protect it and act as a layer to the skin.
6. Remove dry skin:
Pay more attention to elbows and knees during summer, and exfoliate your skin with a body scrub once a week to remove those dead cells and dry skin. Once scrubbed, moisturize those areas with a rich oil within three minutes of toweling off after the shower.
7. Overdose on watermelon:
Watermelon has components of treating the skin from within because its so rich in antioxidants that it hydrates your skin and gives off a radiant complexion. Summers must be full of watermelons, that is the best alternative to any other fruit.
8. Protect your hands:
Since the skin on hands is so light and sensitive to sun rays, use sunblock daily or regularly because that's where wrinkles appear the fastest after the face. Clarins Age Control hand lotion with SPF 15 is a great product for maintaining the skin around your hands.

9. Have an SPF meal:
Sunburn can be prevented and reduced with a higher intake of vitamin C & E so increase your SPF intake by eating citrus, tomatoes and berries in a salad or a meal along with some rich nuts on the side that are high in vitamin E. Then, you're protected internally too!
10. Cleanse your skin regularly:
Try to wash your skin with a gentle cleanser twice a day to avoid any dirt from accumulating and oil gathering up on the skin. Excess sebum (oil) causes acne and other skin disorders to occur. If you're into natural skin cleansers, then mix plain yoghurt with some honey and apply it all over the face for 10-15 minutes. It moisturizes and cleanses but if you have oily skin, using honey isn't a good idea. Honey also helps tightening your skin so it really does do wonders to the skin!
