Inner beauty secrets of Kim Kardashian's makeup artist

Learning from celebrity makeup artists is always a treat. Few months back, I got the opportunity to attend a makeup masterclass hosted by Harrods London & Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian's makeup artist. The excitement to meet the man behind her glamorous looks can't be explained. Kim wasn't there herself but he worked his magic on the model. He came across as such a humble & professional makeup artist, so patient in his ways and definitely one of my favorites! I left the class with a lot of product knowledge, and tips & tricks that have always been useful to me when I am working on my clients.

His favorite skin preparation: Loves using moisturizers, but doesn't like primers. Kiehls & Creme de la Mer are on top of his list. Not only did he moisturize the face, but he also moisturized the neck, and ears before starting.

Eyebrow makeup: He used Anastasia Beverly Hills' brow wiz.

Concealers that work for him the best: Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage palettes which are great for summer and winter. For lifting, he likes to use Makeup Forever & Dior lift concealers. For mature skin, he recommended to use liquid concealers with a sponge.

Undereyes: When setting the makeup, he used Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush flawless finish powder but he recommended to use less powder on wrinkled areas and the mouth area to avoid any creasing.

Highlighting: He used Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Glow above cheekbones to highlight with a large eyebrow brush. (For lesser highlight, use a bigger sized brush) He also applied some on the bridge of the nose and chin, & cupid's bow to bring out those features.

Blush: He loves using peach tones in blushes as they're good for light to medium skin tones. His favorites are NARS Orgasm & Tom Ford's Love Lust.

Foundations: He recommended to use stick foundations for people with bad/acne skin and usually builds it up for full coverage. He also put foundation on the upper eyelid to balance out the color of the face equally before starting any eye makeup.
